The launching ceremony of AESF e-Masters Cup · China Tournament was held at the Zhongzhou Marriott Hotel in Shenzhen on August 13, 2019. Kenneth Fok, the president of AESF (Asian Electronic Sports Foundation), joined hands with Lang Lan, the Chairwoman of Sunshine Media Group to announce the event's official launch.
Wei Jizhong, the lifetime honorary vice-president of the Asian Olympic council; Zhang Hong, the speed skating champion of International Olympic Committee Member Sochi 2014; Xu Da, former chief planner of the Beijing organizing committee for the winter Olympics, the Olympic committee offcials from several Asian countries, and the president of e-Sports Association attended the launching ceremony. Even the competition partners Tencent e-sports, NetEase Games and KONAMI representatives also witnessed the perfect launch of this Asian e-sports event.
The China tournament of AESF e-Master Cup is the first Asian top comprehensive esports event organized by the Asia Electronic Sports Foundation in China. The whole event will be hosted by Sun Media Group and Sunshine E-sports, and the Asian finals will be held at Spring Cocoon Stadium in Shenzhen, March 2020.
Mr. Kenneth Fok, the president of Asian Electronic Sports Fountaion( AESF) at the launching ceremony, mentioned: The goal of AESF is not only to promote e-sports to the general public, but also to support e-sports players and the optimization of their playing environment.
We hope that this AESF e-Sports Masters Cup in China will act as the "catalyzer" to reduce negative perceptions of electronic sports, and try to change some of the public doubts about electronic sports and e-sports.
In addition to the four well-known classic and popular sports, VR UAV(unmanned aerial vehicle) and robot are also included in the "Masters Cup", which is hoped to bring more inspiration to the development of e-sports in the next few years.
"Esports is an emerging world language, " said Yang Lan, the chairwoman of Sun Media Group, who twice represented Beijing for Olympic Bid. Relying on the Internet, E-sports have higher participation, interaction, communicaiton and user stickiness than the traditional sports have. The fighting, perseverance and cooperation spirit of e-sports athletes also embodies the spirit of sports.

At the launch ceremony, Li Xiaofeng, as the champion of twice WCG and professional player of former warcraft 3, as a retired esports player, shared his expectation for more international and standardized esports events. And he also opened a dialogue with Zhang Hong, the speed skating champion of 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and the member of international Olympic committee, about traditional sports athletes and e-sports athletes. This dialogue interpreted the similarities between tradition sports and electronic sports from different aspects such as daily training, physical training and recreation.
As the first top comprehensive e-sports event in Asia, the Masters Cup features four official competitions, three among which have been announced so fa, including the new sports representative Live Football 2020, the new sports representative International Edition of King's Glory, and the veteran e-sports program Warcraft 3. In addition to the four competitions, this competition also focuses on the frontier of e-sports, with specially designed exhibition competitions featuring robot combat and drone racing.

At that time, teams from all over Asia will learn from the mature selection mode of traditional sports, and advance through the national qualifiers, regional level competitions and intercontinental group stage.
